Bewitched

Avery is all dressed up for her classmate's Halloween birthday party.
How fun is that?

oh, deer

Look what showed up in our fenced backyard. Bambi. This might not be so bizarre, except we are no where near a forest or wherever deer hang out. So we called Animal Control to ask what we should do and they said -- in a not very nice tone -- "Um, open the gate." duh. Bambi ended up jumping the back fence, much to the surprise and delight of about eight 10-year-old boys who were playing football. Poor deer.

guess who's potty training?

We traveled so much this summer (not to mention moved to another part of the country), I put off Louisa's potty training until after we settled in the new house. Thanks to some M&M incentives, she took to it right away. yippie!

Avery's First Day of School

Avery was very excited to get back to school. Our neighborhood has a "walking school bus" that departs right in front of our house, rain, shine or (gasp!) snow. I've been advised by the walking parents to get snow boots with really, really thick soles. Those just can't be cute.

Louisa was excited to take Avery to school (and have mommy all to herself!)

City Garden

Before heading north, we pit-stopped in St Louis. Even though we weren't in the new house yet, we still had MUCH to do. I'm so glad we took a break and met friends Michelle and Gian for a bit of fun at the downtown City Garden. It is amazing. The kids had a blast and the artwork is fantastic. Check it out if you can.

Sweet Lulu

I caught Louisa having a quiet moment in her Grandma Evie's room.
I guess even three-year-olds need a little downtime now and then.

Farewell Friends

Thank you so much to the Davis Family for hosting a farewell swim party for Avery. We will miss you all so very much!

I hope this doesn't become a habit.
